About A Dark Room

A Dark Room is a text game. It starts with almost nothing: a cold, dark room and a fire that is going out. You click to stoke the fire and the story begins.

Stranger by stranger, a small village grows. You gather wood, build huts, trade for supplies and later set out into the wilderness. New buttons appear only as you earn them, so the game keeps surprising you.

Go slowly and read each message. The game saves your progress in the browser, so you can come back to the same village later on the same device.
